Study Visit to the Museo de la Nación

During our visit to the Museo de la Nación we observed about tradition and diversity of the peruvian art, pre columbian pottery, gold and silver work, the art of weaving, and much more.

The cultural greatness of Peru is reflected in their varied artistic expressions, which century after century have left traces of their quality and beauty.
The pottery of old Peru dates back to more than three thousand years.
The artistic and cultural expressions comprise different cultures of our history before the Inca period. The various expressions shown by the ceramics transmit the rich and complex artistic and ideological motivations of the different Peruvian cultures.

The Moche and Lambayeque Cultures display the most advanced metallurgy of ancient Peru.
The Mochicas produced utilitarian items, jewerly and ornaments such as necklaces, breasplates, earmuffs and diadems. they achieved a great skill in the use of gold, silver, golden copper and silvered copper.
For the Mochicas, gold meant the masculine and silver symbolized the femenine.

The textiles played and important role in pre-hispanic cultures. At the funerals, for instance, it was customary to wrap the dead in funerary bundles.
The mantle of the Paracas Culture are highly admire for its designs representing mythological figures, profusely attired, express the high complexity of their conception of the world.

Recycling Project

Recycling involves processing used materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air and water pollution.
Recycable materials include many kinds of glass, paper, metal, plastic, textiles, and electronics.
For our project we used an egg box, a toothpick, paper, and 4 tops of bottles.
This was a very creative experience.

Rock Art

We started this term talking about rocks in our Science class and to find some fun with this topic we made rock art as people did long ago.
We used a cotton swab to paint a picture on the rock and we drew something that lives today as people did long ago.
Children enjoyed this creative moment.

Study Visit To La Granjita Feliz

Living Together
Each living thing is part of a family or a group. Through daily experiences we can discover and know more about them, appreciating how unique they are.

St. George's Day

This is the way that we celebrated your birthday.
Happy Anniversary St. George's College!!!!

Healthy Food

We worked on a healthy food chart. Arter we read the story "A Salad Surprise". We checked the vocabulary and worked with it in the notebook. To finish our activity we prepared a fruit salad in the classroom. Some of the kids tasted a fruit salad for the first time. They had a lot of fun.

Thanks to all the parents for sending the ingredients required.

Creating a Group Story

This has been a wonderful experience for me and my students. We worked during one week creating this story. We followed all the steps to create a story without mistakes.
First, students selected some topics and chose one. Then they brainstormed many ideas about it. Next, they put all these ideas in order following events using conectors like first, next, and last. After, they dictated the whole story avoiding all kinds of mistakes, then we checked them. We tried to include more ideas and finally they dictated the story again to have a neat copy. They read their story and they felt proud of themselves.
Each of them copied the story on a piece of paper and then they continued working as a group making a big mural about the story.
They worked as a group disscusing all these ideas.

Congratulations My Kittens!!!! Claps for you.

Cool Maths for Kids

This was a nice motivation to learn about number words. As we can see, my students learnt by playing.
First, we wrote numbers from 1 to 20. We played with cards. Then outside of the classroom we related the numbers with the number word.
Finally, we put numbers in order.
All of my kittens were winners.

Dear Kittens you can practice writing number words at home.

My Body Is Wonderful !

Dear Kittens, this is the song learnt in class. Let´s practice!
